| The
performance of the functions and the management
of the affairs of the organization is the responsibility
of the council. The
Chief Executive Officer of the Organization is
the Director General. The structure consists of
five Departments namely Engineering
Development, Industrial Research and Human Resources and Administration, Finance and ICT.
Under departments, there are nine
operating divisions and in the office of Director
General there are three units. Each division and
unit are responsible for its function activities
including technology development, provision of
technical service and specialized marketing. Centralized
services covers finance, human resources development,
planning, legal matters and administrative issues.
The
Director of Engineering Development oversees the
functions of materials science and technology,
textile and leather, information technology and
instrumentation. The Director of Industrial Research
is responsible for food technology and biotechnology,
agrotechnology and industrial chemistry as well
as energy and environment. The directors oversee
matters concerning project formulation and management,
marketing of activities and provision of technical
services.
Project
management focuses on team work of which experts
are drawn from divisions units and should possess
the relevant knowledge and skills to undertake
the assignment. The project leader is directly
responsible to the director.
