The TIRDO Management Structure

At the apex of the organization is a Council whose Chairman is appointed by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania and its members are appointed by the Minister for Industry and Trade.

The composition of Council includes Government officials, business community, industrialists and academia. The Council is responsible for the performance and management of TIRDO affairs. 

The Chief Executive Officer of the Organization is the Director General who is appointed by the President.  The structure consists of five departments namely:

• Engineering Development,
• ICT and Technology Development
•  Industrial Research
•  Human Resources and Administration
•  Finance

These departments are headed by Directors.  Under the departments, there are twelve operating divisions and in the office of Director General there are three units.  Each division is responsible for its function activities including technology development, and provision of technical service.  The Corporate Services Unit does the extension services, information management and marketing.  Centralised services cover finance, human resources development, planning, legal matters and administrative issues
